2018 – A Year of Promise

Much was achieved both on and off the greens during 2016 and 2017 with major improvements to facilities and great performances on the greens. The year ahead promises to be another exciting chapter in the Club's history as plans and opportunities unfold to further develop the sport and the Club itself. With new competitions and formats generating renewed interest in the game, the future is looking good and we need "all hands on deck" to capitalise on those opportunities.

The recently completed upgrade of the restroom amenities and bar complement other initiatives to promote the game we love, to broaden our horizons within the local community, encourage new membership and attract additional user groups. We can do it.

In The Swing

As we prepare for the year ahead, the following big team events are looming.

Hinterland Local League

This popular competition catering for both men and women returns in 2018 and will enable all members, old and new, to gain some great experience in inter-club competition.

Eights

This inter-club challenge with teams comprising two Pairs combinations and one Fours proved extremely popular in its inaugural season and the 2018 series of Eights will again be played by both Men and Women.

Get in the Game

With declining membership and participation rates dogging the sport, all clubs need to proactively market lawn bowls.  It is important to target all age groups but it has been found that the primary focus should be aimed at the mid age group. Embracing other sports, corporate and social groups, and other community organisations is favoured.

It is a known fact however that the majority of bowlers were introduced to the sport by a friend or workmate so members are encouraged to invite associates to the various beginner and familiarisation events scheduled throughout the year.

Exciting New Initiative - Jack Attack

For Juniors

Junior Jack Attack was developed to enable younger children to gain an introduction to the sport of lawn bowls. With special light weight bowls and targets, Junior Jack Attack provides an ideal avenue for children to develop general ball and coordination skills.
